Unfortunately, too many people neglect the development of their professional skills, choosing to favour technical training over professional training. Don't get me wrong, you need to stay a head with the technical aspects of your work but how can you sell your technical talent if your CV isn't up to scratch or you haven't got the confidence to network when put in a room full of prospective employers? Our workshops and advice sessions are designed to give you the confidence to promote yourself and polish your professional skills, covering a range of topics that will help you stay ahead.
Recent research on the impact of our sessions has proven just how worthwhile developing these skills can be. With freelancers increasing their customer base by 57% following attendance at one of our sessions and 30% now entering new markets as a result of them, that's nearly a third of the freelancers that have attended.
Now let's get to the nitty gritty, can non-technical training improve your bottom line? It sure can! Half of those who took part in our sessions now have a turnover that averages 47% more than what it did prior to their soft skills training. Furthermore, a massive 75% of the freelancers that have attended our workshops and advice sessions have won new contracts and were able to give us a value of these contracts totalling £131,000, that averages at just under £22,000 worth of new contracts per freelancer trained.
These figures show that you can't underestimate the importance of professional skills. However, if you need further encouragement, check out our latest freelancer blogs from Kim Emson and Alban Thomson.
