MMF Induction Day for New Managers Comes to Liverpool
Management Essentials Covered in a Day
The MMF are continuing their commitment to training by taking their Induction Day for new managers on the road to Liverpool. The explosion of creators wishing to launch careers prompted by diverse reasons such as the cheapness of basic recording, the ease of internet distribution and even the X-Factor, has resulted in an increased demand for music managers. Potential managers are often put off by the seeming complexities of the music industry and the MMF’s increasing membership are looking for help in overcoming the knowledge gap.
The day, developed in conjunction with Vision+Media and Music Ally, will be taught by managers and industry professionals, and will cover industry organisations, revenue sources, how to release a track or CD, basic marketing, contracts, insurance and finance. Since its launch last year the course has been run 4 times in London and has received great feedback.
The workshop will be run in association with Vision+Media. The course costs £25 per attendee and payments can be made via paypal, once you have registered on eventbrite. To book a place please register here
About the Course:
The course will be run by music manager Erik Nielson (Marillion, consultant at 21st Artists) and MMF CEO Jon Webster as well as 3 experienced music industry professionals covering accountancy, legal and insurance.
Or contact Jon Webster at the MMF webbo@themmf.net or on 020 7306 4886 for further information.
CEO Jon Webster commented: “There is a growing unsatisfied demand for a short entry level course to complement our existing training that will enable new managers to begin launching new business that will the bedrock of tomorrow’s music industry”.
