Film Festival Bursaries

Posted: 17th March 2010

Closing date for applications: 01st April 2011

Festival Bursaries - There are two strands available under this funding priority:

  • Individual awards
  • Company awards

This fund is a rolling fund. You must apply to the fund before the registration deadline for the festival you wish to attend.

We will consider applications to attend the following approved festivals. (The information below details Country, Deadline Date and Website details for these festivals. Please note Premiere Status.)

1) Individual Applications

This strand is open to individuals wishing to attend specific markets and festivals where there is a clear need and benefit identified.

The funding is to support travel, accommodation and festival passes as well as support the production of marketing materials. The application is to support attendance to one festival only.

Vision+Media will be supporting a list of approved festivals and markets. If the festival you wish to attend is not on this list, awards will only be given in exceptional circumstances. Any queries please contact Vision+Media film department staff.

You will be expected to tell us why you wish to attend this festival or market, what project(s) you are taking and who you will be meeting with. You will also be asked to produce a report on your attendance when you return as well as provide all receipts in order to release the final proportion of your funds (25%).

You will need to apply to Vision+Media for support prior to the registration deadline for the festival you wish to attend. Applications submitted after this date will not be considered.

Awards are up to £300.

Match funding must be provided at a minimum of 30% of the total project costs. This amount can be provided as cash or in kind support.

2) Company/Project Applications

This strand is open to companies or projects wishing to attend specific markets and festivals where there is a clear need and benefit identified.

The funding is to support travel, accommodation and festival passes as well as support the production of marketing materials. Companies/projects will only be eligible to make one submission a year, so all activity for the following twelve months must be included. Additional support will only be given in exceptional circumstances.

Vision+Media will be supporting a list of approved festivals and markets which will be available on the website (and are subject to change). It the festival you wish to attend is not on this list support will only be given in exceptional circumstances.

You will be expected to tell us why you wish to attend these festivals and markets, what projects you are taking and who you hope to be meeting with. You will be asked to produce a report on your attendance at each festival to be delivered within one month of the event and to provide receipts. 75% of your support will be released at signature, with the final 25% being released on completion of the years activity and all reports and receipts being submitted.

You will need to apply to Vision+Media for support prior to the registration deadline for the festivals you wish to attend. Applications submitted after this date will not be considered.
