Amelia Lavington - Post Placement
Name:
Amelia
Lavington
Trainee:
Researcher
ITV
What
would
you
say
were
the
best
bits
about
the
Northern
Routes
Training
Scheme
and
your
placement?
The
placement
was a
good
length
of
time
allowing
you to
settle
in and
get to
grips
with
projects
within
the
company.
I also
found
the
external
induction
and
bespoke
training
days
really
valuable
as
they
were
catered
to
your
individual
needs.
I
loved
the
working
atmosphere
at my
placement
and
the
opportunity
to
develop
media
projects
for
the
web.
Everyone
was
really
friendly
and I
have
become
very
involved
with
the
company’s
projects.
Would
you
recommend
Northern
Routes
to
other
potential
trainees
(please
give
reasons)?:
Most
definitely,
it is
a
chance
for
people
who
lack
the
industry
experience
and
need
to
develop
skills
to
further
their
career.
The
scheme
is
very
supportive
so you
don’t
feel
lost
or
overwhelmed
in
your
placement.
Being
allocated
a
‘mentor’
allows
you an
insight
into
how to
progress
your
career
and is
an
extra
support
separate
to the
scheme.
Please
explain
what
you
have
gone
on to
do
following
Northern
Routes:
I
have
stayed
on at
the
placement
company
as a
researcher.
What
do you
hope
to do
in the
future
and
how
has
Northern
Routes
helped
you in
working
towards
this
goal?
I
hope
to be
able
to
improve
my
knowledge
and
skills
as a
researcher.
Northern
Routes
has
helped
me by
giving
me
experience
in
this
position
whilst
being
supported
through
training
and
mentorship.
Please
sum up
the
Northern
Routes
Training
Scheme
in one
line:
A
fantastic
opportunity
for
people
who
want
to
break
into
media
production.
