AWARD WINNING PROFESSIONALS JOIN NORTH WEST VISION

NORTH West Vision, the film, TV and digital media agency for England’s Northwest, has appointed a new Communications Manager, Denise Pearson and a Talent Base Manager, Edward Pugh, to its team.

Denise has previously worked for ten year’s at the Manchester Evening News and has had a string of past successes, which include winning the Northwest Journalist of the Year Award for her work as M.E.N.s Women’s Editor.

Since then, Denise has completed an MA in Scriptwriting at Salford University whilst working as a freelance communications consultant. She is now keen to promote North West Vision’s work with the thriving visual industries across the region.

Discussing her new position, Denise said: “I am very excited about this opportunity and I’m looking forward to the variety of work and everyday challenges that will come my way. The Northwest is an amazingly productive area for both film and TV and with projects such as Mediacity:UK currently the central focus of regional and national press, it’s a pleasure to come on board at this immensely interesting time.”

Meanwhile, former Executive Producer, Edward Pugh, will carry out the newly created role of Talent Base Manager.

With an extensive background working as a Director, Producer and Executive Producer for the BBC, Granada and within various indie sectors, Edward has won awards including a BAFTA for Ipso Facto and an RTS Award for Children’s Ward. Edward’s main role at North West Vision will be to ensure there’s enough support for individual and company based talent, to maintain stability in the Northwest’s creative sectors.

Edward explained: “I will be working to encourage local talent and to identify any skills gaps in the industry. The Northwest offers a great range of TV, film and new media based companies. I hope that by working closely with existing partners and through sourcing additional local talent, we can focus on even greater achievements in the future.”

Previously, Edward ran the BBC Children’s TV Department in Glasgow and Manchester, before working as a producer on the successful drama series Byker Grove. Some of the programmes he has worked on include, Fully Booked, Jossy’s Giants, Grange Hill, Jackanory, Monty Python, Top of the Pops and The Generation Game.
