Board Members

Northwest Vision and Media's board is made up of influential media, arts and cultural representatives, who are passionate about and committed to the development and growth of the television and film industry in England's Northwest.


Steve Morrison (Chair)
Steve Morrison joined North West Vision as its Chairman in 2003 and remained as Chairman after its merger into Northwest Vision and Media. Steve’s career in broadcasting has spanned over 30 years. Having spent 28 years in Granada, both in Manchester and latterly in London, Steve left his position as Chief Executive Granada Plc in 2002 and formed All3Media in 2003, which is now the UK’s largest group of Independent Production Companies by turnover and audience.

Margaret McClelland (Deputy Chair)
Margaret McClelland joined the BBC in 1994 after 11 years in HR and Development with the supermarket chain, Asda. Based in Manchester, Margaret is now Development Executive of BBC Project North, which will culminate in the move of 2,300 London-based BBC jobs to Salford.

Paul Atkinson
As National Official for BECTU, the independent union for those working in, film, theatre, entertainment, leisure, interactive media and allied areas, Paul represents members across all sectors of the industry, particularly those working in film and TV across the Northwest, Yorkshire and Humberside and the Northeast. Previously, Paul was on the board of Media Training North West.

Cllr Warren Bradley
Councillor Warren Bradley is Leader of Liverpool City Council, elected in May 2000, and is responsible for strategic initiatives, marketing, Capitial of Culture Year 2008 and Heritage. Warren sits on numerous boards in the city, as a Director including; Business Liverpool, Liverpool Vision, Liverpool Land, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society, ACE(NW), Culture Company, the Mersey Partnership and North-West Vision. For the past 20 years he has worked as an operational fire officer for Merseyside Fire Service.

Andrew Critchley
Andrew Critchley has been involved with Red Production Company since its formation in 1997 and has overseen all of Red’s £100M + output for all the major UK network broadcasters. He is PACT’s Northern Representative and is also on the board of Cultural Diversity Network North.

Mike Davis
Mike Davis has a long standing commitment to the development of enterprise in the Northwest. He was a partner with business advisers Ernst & Young in both the Manchester and Liverpool offices. For the past 10 years he has been non-executive chairman of several businesses in the Region including an involvement with the media sector. He also worked with Granada for many years, both as a judge on their televised business competition Flying Start and on a major charity initiative.

Sean Marley
Sean Marley is Managing Director of Lime Pictures, the Liverpool-based independent production company. Before joining Lime Pictures, he spent 13 years in the commercial radio industry, culminating in the role of MD at Liverpool’s Radio City and a group role across EMAP's network of Northern Magic AM stations.

Lynne McCadden
Managing Director of Northwest Vision and Media
With more than 25 years senior professional and executive experience across a wide range of media environments, Lynne is currently Managing Director of Northwest Vision and Media. Previously, she spent six years as Chief Executive of Media Training North West and two years as Business Development Manager, of the Peace Centre, Warrington. Lynne’s successful journalistic career began on The Belfast Telegraph in 1980, where she worked throughout The Troubles.

Peter Mearns
Peter Mearns has spent his career in marketing and communications, with an emphasis on economic development, creative industries, skills, business services, arts, tourism and sport. He is Executive Director of Marketing at the Northwest Development Agency (NWDA) and is also a board member of the Arts Council England, North West; Sport England, Northwest; and England's North Country; a trustee of the Ariel Trust, a member of Culture Northwest and a member of Tate Liverpool Council.

Alice Morrison
Chief Executive of Northwest Vision and Media
Alice Morrison joined North West Vision as its Chief Executive in 2002, becoming CEO of the merged Northwest Vision and Media in May 2007. She has a wealth of production experience across all forms of media. Having trained as a journalist she helping launch the BBC's News 24 before joining internet company, Supanet, developing it into one of the top five ISPs in the UK.

Eamonn O'Neal

Eamonn O’Neal is a Director of independent production company, Centini. He is also Director of Programmes for Channel M, the Guardian Media Group’s city TV station and presenter of BBC Radio Manchester’s Breakfast Programme. He was previously a senior programme executive with ITV and is an Ambassador for the Prince’s Trust. He has an M.Sc. in Change Management from Manchester Metropolitan University.

Libby Raper
As Chief Executive for Culture Northwest Libby Raper works to champion the whole spectrum of cultural interests in the region and drive regional development through the Regional Cultural Strategy. She has served on a range of bodies including the British Quality Association TQM Board, Durham University Careers Board and The Smirnoff Foundation.

Jonathan Shorrock
Jonathan Shorrock is a solicitor specialising in corporate finance. He is a partner at Kippax Beaumont Lewis of Bolton, and head of the corporate department. Jonathon qualified as a solicitor in 1985 with Addleshaw Sons & Latham (later Addleshaw Booth & Co and now Addleshaw Goddard) and was a corporate partner there from 1990 to 2002. He is president of the Bolton Chamber of Commerce, and director of the Greater Manchester Chamber.

Andy Sumner
Andy Sumner is steeped in traditional broadcast production. Over the last 15 years he and wife Janet have built their post production business, Sumners, from a single machine mobile edit suite into the largest post house in the North. The previous 20 years were spent at Granada Television film editing. He is now part of the Peel, Mediacity team, as well as running the Pie Factory, a studio complex at Mediacity.

Mike Taylor
Mike Taylor joined Granada as an Assistant Management Accountant in July 1980 which led to his appointment as Manager of Design Services in 1984 and later Head of Design Services. Following the integration of LWT/TLS within Granada Media, Mike was appointed Director of Resources in 1996. Mike was previously General Manager of Granada Television and Managing Director of 3sixtymedia. Mike is now CEO of BusinessLiverpool.

Anthony Utley

With 30 years in the television industry, Anthony Utley joined Cosgrove Hall as Managing Director in October 2005. He has utilised his considerable experience from both the BBC (programme planning, marketing, events, distribution and television presentation/production) and ITV (Head of Acquisition and Programme Development) to develop and establish new, strong animation properties for the company's own in-house production as well as quality work for hire.
