Northwest Vision and Media, create the bigger picture
Broadcast Commissioning Conference 07
BROADCAST’S Commissioning Conference 2007 returns
to Manchester in November, with Northwest Vision and Media playing
a big part in the multi-channel commissioning event.
Seen as an essential, must-attend event in the
television calendar, the Commissioning Conference gives indies and
individuals alike an exclusive chance to hear from, and speak to, a
world-class line-up of television’s most powerful movers and
shakers.
Vision and Media, which works on behalf of the TV, film, radio and
digital content industries, has supported twenty Northwest
companies to attend the event, which will see speakers and panel
members such as Simon Shaps, Director of Television, ITV, Jay Hunt,
Director of Programmes, five, Andrew Newman, Head of Entertainment,
Channel 4 and Nick Fraser, Commissioning Editor, Storyville,
BBC.
Manchester is the UK’s newest and most exciting media centre,
and is also home to regional screen agency Northwest Vision and
Media, which works on behalf of the TV, film, radio and digital
content industries to grow a world-class media economy in
England’s Northwest.
Vision and Media will be hosting a must-attend pre-conference
comedy night on November 21, in preparation for what promises to be
a sell-out industry event.
“We are delighted to be hosting our Legendary Comedy Evening
once again, in the build-up to the Broadcast Commissioning
Conference,” says Alice Morrison, Chief Executive of Vision
and Media.
“Everyone who is anyone in the industry, or who seriously
wants to become part of the TV world, simply must attend this
unique event, which offers a golden opportunity to make crucial
industry contacts.
“There’s no better place to hear about latest trends
and technological advances, and how they will affect your business
over coming years. The industry is in a state of change, and this
is where you get to hear first-hand about those changes,”
adds Alice.
In a marketplace that’s becoming ever more competitive
year-on-year, this sixth annual Conference is an ideal opportunity
for industry professionals to hear about what’s happening,
and what’s going to happen in future.
In addition to channel overviews from the country’s leading
Broadcasters, there’ll be in-depth discussions of genre
specific commissioning trends, with the chance to pose questions
direct to commissioners.
There’ll also be un-missable networking opportunities, with
more than 200 delegates and speakers attending, including many of
the most senior and influential figures from the broadcasting and
independent production sectors.
Whether you’re a producer, programme developer, writer,
channel commissioner, head of genre, post-production house, or have
a vested interest in what ideas the major channels are looking for
on behalf of your clients, the Broadcast Commissioning Conference
is a must-attend event.
