Development Plus Advanced 07

DEVELOPMENT PLUS ADVANCED

A THREE-DAY course aimed at more experienced feature film screenwriters who are keen to refresh their development skills. Presented by Simon Van Der Borgh.

Saturday November 3 to Monday November 5 2007 (three days).

The Redhead Room, BBC Oxford Road, Manchester

Places are limited to 12 participants. There will be a small charge of £25.

Application deadline: 1pm Monday 10th September 2007

This programme offers a refresher to those writers who have previously attended one of our writers’ development programmes, such as Development Plus or our New Writers Development Programme which ran in 2005/06. It will focus more on writing strong treatments, creating ideas that have commercial potential and how to pitch your projects to producers and funders.

"During this advanced session we will undertake an analysis of a recent feature to re-cap key elements of character, story and structure," says Simon. "Then I will take participants through my 12 step programme of how I go from one line idea to full draft screenplay, concentrating particularly on short documents such as one liner, one pager, outline, step outline and treatment. We will also look at ideas generation and improving pitching skills."

Please note there will be some work to complete each evening in preparation for the next day.

· Day 1 Saturday 3rd November 2007
· Day 2 Sunday 4th November 2007
· Day 3 Monday 5th November 2007
