Facilities Companies
Funding for Facilities Companies
Funding is available for facilities and production services companies based in Merseyside working in film, TV and digital media through the Merseyside Film and Television Fund. In addition, facilities/ production services companies from across the North West can now apply to the Regional Attraction Fund for support. In both cases, we are interested in proposals which fill identifiable gaps in the local film, television and digital media infrastructure.
Regional Attraction Fund
The Regional Attraction Fund is now entering its second phase after
a successful first year. Investments ranging from £5,000 to
£60,000 can be made for up to 50% of the costs of any
proposal that will help with the development of a North West based
production services or facilities company. We are looking for
proposals where a significant gap in existing provision in the
Northwest has been identified, and where a viable market for the
proposed product or service exists.
Who can apply?
- Any existing North West based production services or facilities companies who can demonstrate that their proposal will fill a gap in the market in the region.
- Companies need to have been established for a minimum of 12 months.
- Evidence must be provided to show that the company can provide 50% of the company development costs in partnership funding (either from their own resources or from third parties).
When can I apply?
Applications are considered throughout the year.

Merseyside Film and Television Fund
The Merseyside Film & Television Fund can support company development activity for facilities and production services companies already based in Merseyside or those locating into region. This fund can support proposals by up to a maximum of 37% of the agreed costs, so applicants must have the remaining 63% in place.
Who can apply?
To apply for MFTVF companies must:
- Be based in Merseyside, locating to Merseyside within 3 months of application or developing a joint venture with a company based on Merseyside;
- Demonstrate a business proposition that will benefit the Merseyside economy in terms of jobs and/or turnover;
- Show commitment to the development of the film/television/digital media industries in Merseyside;
- Meet the Small to Medium Enterprise criteria - less than 250 employees, annual turnover less than 40 million Euros, annual balance sheet not exceeding 27 million Euros
When can I apply?
The Merseyside Film and Television Fund is open for applications
throughout the year.
