First A-Z of Northwest Talent
FIRST A-Z OF NORTHWEST TALENT
THE Northwest is to get its own Talent Year Book, with information on the region’s most dynamic film professionals to be brought together for the very first time.
North West Vision, the film, TV and digital media development agency for the Northwest, decided to produce the Talent Year Book to help champion the region’s film industry.
“North West Vision is at the heart of the film and TV industry, and as part of our role in supporting the production of high quality work, we felt the time was right to put together the Northwest’s first-ever Talent Year Book presenting the Class of 2007 to the industry, “ explains Helen Bingham, North West Vision’s Head of Production Development.
“We have a vast showcase of local talent here in the Northwest - and now we’re ready to shout about it!” she adds.
After inviting companies from across the Northwest to submit tenders for the work, North West Vision has asked Manchester and Liverpool-based business, Glorious Creative, to write, design and produce the new Talent Year Book 2007.
Glorious Creative’s MD, Scott McCubbin, says he’s thrilled to be working on the project. “This is an excellent and prestigious job, and everyone at Glorious Creative is very excited about working on the project,” says Scott.
“The Talent Year Book has been a long time coming, and as this is the first one, our prime objective is to give it a strong identity, so the guide becomes an essential read for those in the industry,” he adds.
Around 80 producers, directors and writers will be included in the A-Z of talent, with each individual having a full page of information dedicated to them. “We’re giving the best of the Northwest a chance to tell the rest of the world about their key achievements and plans for the future,” explains Helen.
“Since North West Vision was established, we’ve funded over 70 short films and supported over 100 writers through our development schemes and Lottery Awards. Some of our past recipients have gone on to make low budget feature films and many of our writers have succeeded in securing television and radio work.
“But now its time to promote our new talent, showcasing the class of 2007. These people are our brightest stars, and we’re confident that with the help of things like the Talent Year Book, they’re going to shine,” adds Helen.
Glorious Creative is equally confident of producing a stunning publication. “Our knowledge of the TV and film industry puts us in good stead for producing this first Talent Year Book,” says Scott McCubbin. “We feel strongly that the yearbook should not only look great, but should work hard for the individuals profiled.”
North West Vision expect the completed Talent Year Book to be available in April.
