Working in partnership with the University of Liverpool, Northwest Vision and Media, North West Film Archive and Liverpool Libraries and Record Office, the British Film Institute (BFI) has developed the resource as part of its Screenonline, to coincide with the city's year-long celebration as European Capital of Culture.
The site went live on Tuesday 29 April, and can be found at www.screenonline.org.uk/liverpool
The site reflects every aspect of Liverpool's development over the last century, from its people, cultural achievements, politics and industry to its commercial heritage, sporting triumphs and tragedies. It celebrates Liverpool's creative impact in film and television, with biographies of key actors, writers and directors.
Liverpool: A City On Screen is available to the public and is an essential destination for film enthusiasts, local historians and anyone with an interest in Liverpool's history.
