Maximising Young People\'s Engagement in 2012

The 2012 Games may be 4 years away but on the 24th August this year the Olympiad passes to London and the UK and to create a genuine legacy for young people in the Northwest we need to start now. This handover will kick off of various activities including the London 2012 Domestic Education Programme and the Cultural Olympiad. These programmes will provide a number of opportunities for young people.

Culture Northwest are proud to announce this half day seminar on 25th June which is targeted as decision makers within Children's Trusts across the Northwest to learn more about opportunities related to the 2012 Games.

Speakers on the day include:

Kathryn McColl from the London 2012 Education Team who will outline the latest plans regarding the London 2012 Domestic Education Programme;

Andy Worthington, Chair of the Northwest Steering Group for the 2012 Games, outlining the region's approach to developing a legacy from the 2012 Games;

Debbi Lander, Creative Programmer for the Northwest, who will outline plans for the Cultural Olympiad and in particular opportunities for young people's engagement.

There will also be a series of case studies profiling existing good practice in the active engagement of young people. Attendance at this event is free of charge.
