@North Project - Commission Opportunities - deadline extended

The BBC is pleased to announce that due to the interest in the @North project, the closing date has been extended till Friday 29 January 5pm. All new applicants are required to submit electronic entries.

As a result, announcements regarding the results of the selection will now be take place in the week of the 8 February 2010.



The @North Project is a new, collaborative initiative by the BBC that aims to reach out to Northern creative talent.

The Project represents a new model of engagement with individuals, independent companies and digital agencies across the North. It will encourage and support the development and delivery of multiplatform content for the BBC Children’s by ringfencing £500,000 of the BBC’s commissioning funds.

Led by BBC Children’s department, this pilot project will also involve multi-disciplinary teams from other areas of the BBC such as Future Media and Technology (FM&T) and will help establish new collaborative ways of working. The project’s aim is to find the best multiplatform and interactive content for CBeebies and CBBC - this could be in the form of web content, mobile content, gaming or applications.
