From indepenents to broadcasters, more people make TV in the Northwest than anywhere else outside of London. And it’s Vision and Media’s role to keep making that happen.

We can look for investment if you want to produce. We can look for openings if you want to create. And if you want to film in the region, we can look for everything, location permits, camera crew, actors, the lot. Because that is what we do.

Our twin flagships, Granada and the BBC, have laid down an unrivalled legacy through pioneering, landmark TV.

With the BBC relocating even more departments to the Northwest, it speaks volumes for the future. And mediacity:uk at Salford is also soon to make its mark, so there’s never been a more exciting time to make TV in the region.

That’s why we already have 27 independent TV production companies based here. From Red Productions to Lime Pictures, some of the biggest players in the country are already working here. But we’d like to encourage even more indies to join them.

Because although filming across the region has more more doubled in the last 12 months, we’ve still got room for another Shameless. And we’d love to do another groundbreaker like Life On Mars. Or discover the next Paul Abbott.
