Rosalind Gildea - Post Placement
Name:
Rosalind
Gildea
Trainee:
Script
Supervisor
–
ITV
drama
Boy
Meets
Girl
What
would
you
say
were
the
best
bits
about
the
Northern
Routes
Training
Scheme
and
your
placement?
Having
the
opportunity
to
work
with
an
established
crew
and
learn
from
them
whilst
gaining
an
insight
into
how
the
industry
works.
Being
part
of the
crew
for
the
entire
shoot
was
also
very
rewarding.
Would
you
recommend
Northern
Routes
to
other
potential
trainees
(please
give
reasons)?:
Definitely,
the
traineeship
opens
a lot
of
doors
as it
provides
valuable
training
within
a
specific
role
that
you
wouldn’t
otherwise
be
able
to get
whilst
being
paid.
I’ve
found
that
when
approaching
companies
they
take
you
more
seriously
after
having
an
education
and
specific
training.
Please
explain
what
you
have
gone
on to
do
following
Northern
Routes:
I
was
Script
Supervisor
on a
low
budget
horror
film,
went
on a
Skillset
course,
have
done
dailies
on
Shameless
and
Waterloo
Road
and am
continuing
to
build
on my
experience
by
shadowing
on
Emmerdale
to
learn
how to
Script
Supervise
multi
camera
dramas.
I plan
to go
to
Lime
Pictures
next
month.
What
do you
hope
to do
in the
future
and
how
has
Northern
Routes
helped
you in
working
towards
this
goal?
Ultimately
I want
to
direct
and
produce.
This
traineeship
has
given
me a
specific
role
that
has
made
me
employable
whilst
I
learn
about
the
industry.
In the
near
future
I plan
to
build
on my
knowledge
to
become
a
Script
Supervisor.
