SCREEN AGENCY BACKS AWARDS

FOR the first time, North West Vision is sponsoring a category at the prestigious Big Chip Awards, in recognition of the region’s Best Innovation.

The Big Chip Awards single out Northwest companies that excel in the use of IT and digital technology. Chris Moll, Head of Funds for NWV, says the decision to participate in the awards reflects the screen agency’s growing contribution in the region’s changing digital landscape.

“North West Vision is the film, TV and digital media development agency for the Northwest, so we’re delighted to have been invited to get involved with the Big Chip Awards,” says Chris.

“This is an extremely exciting time for the Northwest’s digital content industry as the sector is rapidly establishing itself as frontrunner in the field. At North West Vision we are equally determined to expand and support the region’s emerging and high growth digital companies.

“In particular, we are seeking to drive innovative collaboration between broadcast, film and digital content companies. By sponsoring the Best Innovation Award we are hoping to encourage even more digital content on screen.”

The awards are open to any organisation based in the Northwest that has designed or commissioned any digital projects in the past year. This can include website, DVD, animation, wireless or SMS projects.

NWV meets and assists, on average, three businesses a week. “Our approach is to provide as bespoke a service as possible to all client companies across the region.

“Increasingly, companies want to make use of the digital technology now available to them, and we endeavour to deliver the kind of support and advice companies need to take advantage of the opportunities which are available,” explains Chris.

Now in its ninth year, the Blue Chip Awards boasts 26 categories, including sub-regional categories for Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire and Warrington.

The Big Chip Awards will be announced at a glittering awards dinner on Thursday May 24, held at New Century Hall, Manchester.
