BURSARIES AVAILABLE FOR SCREENWRITERS’ FESTIVAL

NORTHWEST Vision + Media are offering eight regional writers the opportunity to attend the excellent upcoming International Screenwriters’ Festival in Cheltenham in July 2007.

This prestigious event is being held at The Manor by the Lake, Cheltenham, and will take place over four days, from Tuesday 3rd July to Friday 6th July. It is designed as a forum for screenwriters of all levels to share ideas, debate and discuss writing dramatic scripts for film, television and new media. The four days are divided into two sections; 3 - 4 July is for ‘Rising Talent’, while 5 - 6 July is aimed at ‘The Professionals’.

The festival is dedicated to the art, craft and business of writing for the screen, bringing together professional industry delegates, high profile guests and new talent from around the world.

These exclusive bursaries of £500 each, will give eight writers the chance to attend the event and benefit from workshops with experienced screenwriters. Confirmed speakers include Diana Ossana (Brokeback Mountain), William Nicholson (Gladiator) and David Hare (The Hours).

To attend the festival costs approxiamtely £650 which includes the Delegate Fee of £364 plus accommodation and travel. Our £500 Bursaries will cover 77% of the cost of attending. To be elligible you need to be resident in the Northwest, available for the four days in July and able to meet the match funding requirement of £150.
