Duration: Saturday 16 January 2010 (10.30am until 4.30pm)

Venue: Central Liverpool – Contemporary Urban Centre

A one-day course that teaches analysis and reporting on scripts as an introduction to the film development process.

This course will be hosted by respected developer Barbara McKissack, who has previously worked as BBC Scotland’s Head of Drama and Executive Produced Ratcatcher and Morvern Callar.

It is open to anyone with an interest in and familiarity with reading screenplays. Participants should have a passion for film and storytelling as well as an enjoyment of collaborative working. They could be developers, aspiring or new producers, writers, production personnel or from other sectors of the creative industries but with a desire to move towards film.

The primary aim is to provide a resource of new script expertise in the region.

How to book: Contact Jenny Hughes at Vision and Media (jennyh@visionandmedia.co.uk) ASAP. Applicants will be required to complete a report of a short script provided by NWV&M to assess their state of readiness for training. This should be completed and returned with a brief CV and application form to Northwest Vision and Media by Monday 4th January at the latest.

Application Process: Having emailed Jenny, applicants will receive a short script which they should report on and return alongside completed application form and a brief CV. This will be considered and all applicants will be advised on 8th January of the outcome of their application.

*** VIsion and Media are intending to do a script editing course later in the year - those who participate in this module will be given priority.
