Script Reading Workshop
Duration: Saturday 16 January 2010 (10.30am
until 4.30pm)
Venue: Central Liverpool – Contemporary
Urban Centre
A one-day course that teaches analysis and reporting on scripts as
an introduction to the film development process.
This course will be hosted by respected developer Barbara
McKissack, who has previously worked as BBC
Scotland’s Head of Drama and Executive Produced Ratcatcher
and Morvern Callar.
It is open to anyone with an interest in and familiarity with
reading screenplays. Participants should have a passion for film
and storytelling as well as an enjoyment of collaborative working.
They could be developers, aspiring or new producers, writers,
production personnel or from other sectors of the creative
industries but with a desire to move towards film.
The primary aim is to provide a resource of new script expertise in
the region.

ASAP. Applicants will be required to complete a report of
a short script provided by NWV&M to assess their state of
readiness for training. This should be completed and returned with
a brief CV and application form to Northwest Vision and Media by
Monday 4th January at the latest.
Application Process: Having emailed Jenny,
applicants will receive a short script which they should report on
and return alongside completed application form and a brief CV.
This will be considered and all applicants will be advised on
8th January of the outcome of their
application.
*** VIsion and Media are intending to do a script editing
course later in the year - those who participate in this module
will be given priority.
