Step Up Fund
The Step Up Fund will provide training for occupational training
that will help to increase the working grade of new entrants to
freelance by developing their skills in those areas where skills
shortages have been identified for the TV, Radio and digital
industries in the Northwest. Through the Step Up Fund you could
access subsidy for:
· Bespoke training
· One-to-one guidance
· Vision and Media Technical Workshops
Vision and Media can subsidise all of the above, by 80% and up to the value of £500(including VAT).
Eligibility
Priority1 New Technologies
eg. HD including make up for HD, archiving, editing, flash, broadcast engineering
Priority2 Multi skilling for freelances
Eg. Moving across genre, moving across sectors, multi skilling within job role
Priority3 Cross Platform Technologies
Eg. Creating content for different platforms such as mobile, web etc, managing new media projects
Priority4 Media Markets
Eg. Consumer/audience insight, audience behaviour, new trends, new platforms, new commissioning deals
Eligibility for the Step Up Fund is dependent upon your employment status as a Freelance working in the Northwest, TV, radio or digital industries, on contracts of no more than 364 days.
- In the event that your employment status changes you may no longer be eligible for funding.
