Take Part in the Northwest Business Survey

This survey is being conducted on behalf of the North West Development Agency.

When first confronted by questions about design, most people think about Design Craft - perhaps graphic design, ergonomic design or how a product or service is "packaged". Design craft is an important part of the picture, however design is much broader than that. Design Thinking - the application of design principles, potentially in relation to all aspects of product and service innovation, but also in relation to business processes, is becoming mainstream practice in large companies. Recent Design Council research found that 68% of rapidly growing companies identified design and innovation as significantly contributing to increasing their turnover.

We would like to ask for your help with understanding how businesses in the Northwest see design and innovation and the potential benefits of this approach.

- are businesses in the North West already applying Design Thinking principles when developing of improving a product, service or business process development?
- is there Design Thinking expertise available to businesses in the Northwest and is it adequate to business needs?
- is there is a case for developing support services in this field? If so, what do businesses think they should cover and how should they be delivered?

We would very much value your help in completing our e-questionnaire. Completion of the questionnaire should take between 10 and 15 minutes.
