Northwest Vision and Media, the film, TV and digital media development agency for the Northwest, launched the Talent Year Book at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.

“The new wave of talented writers, directors and producers we support now is the future of the film and TV industry, they are the heart of the business,” explains Helen Bingham, Northwest Vision and Media’s Head of Production Development. “As part of our role in supporting the production of high quality work, we felt the time was right to put together the Northwest’s first-ever Talent Year Book and to present it to the industry.

“It seems fitting that we were able to launch it at the 60th Cannes Film Festival – where representatives from the world’s leading film and TV companies read about the amazing, emerging talent the Northwest has produced,” adds Helen.

Steve Morrison, Chair of Northwest Vision and Media, adds: “We want everyone in the industry and beyond, to know about the amazing, dedicated and fresh talent the Northwest has to offer.”

His comments were echoed by the company’s CEO, Alice Morrison. “Our principal aim has always been to develop the region’s talent by investing in creative people and projects that are diverse, distinctive and dynamic. We’re extremely proud of the success stories we’ve helped to create,” says Alice.

Sixty producers, directors and writers are promoted in the A-Z of new talent, with each individual having a full page of information dedicated to them. “We’re giving the emerging talent of the Northwest a chance to tell the rest of the world about their key achievements and plans for the future,” says Helen.
