The Learning Revolution goes North
Coming soon, thanks to generous support from The
Transformation Fund, Northwest Vision and Media, Screen
Yorkshire and Northern Film and Media are delighted to be joining
forces with Media 19 to bring you the Learning Revolution: a
celebration of learning for pleasure bringing benefits to
people’s lives and opportunities to our rural
communities.
Media 19 is an award-winning media production company who
specialise in engaging the public in learning, participating and
producing content for large scale cross-platform media
projects.
From December to March 2010 we are running
DiGi 50+, our programme of Learning Revolution
workshops and drop-in sessions, devised to combat issues of social
exclusion and rural isolation for older people. The project will
develop participants’ knowledge, skills and confidence around
using online, digital and social media tools under different themes
such as ‘managing and sharing digital photos’,
‘keeping in touch with family and friends’,
‘researching family history’ and ‘community
journalism’ in three rural areas of the North of
England.
