The Liverpool Connection

A FIVE day film festival, The Liverpool Connection, will be facilitated under the umbrella community arts initiative, Urban Strawberry Lunch at St Luke's in the Autumn. Throughout the duration of the festival we will screen films appropriate to the space; films will have a direct link to Liverpool and its history, or to the building as a war memorial.

(For example: Mrs Miniver, The Magnet, Gumshoe, The Violent Playground, The Great Dictator. We will also be showing films of Liverpool held by North West Film Archive including a 3 minute film produced by the Lumiere brothers in 1897.)

Before each “Main Feature” we will screen shorts, documentaries etc written, produced and directed by amateur and professional filmmakers, giving local talent an opportunity to display their work in a unique, centrally located, venue. This will all run alongside exhibitions and performances by local artists and musicians to create a holistic approach to the festival. The entries should be no longer than 30 minutes and be locally produced.

There will be a competition for the best three shorts from local film makers.

The Catorgories to enter film are…..
Overall best local film
Best Under 21
Best Documentary

Deadline for submissions 08/08/08
