Skillset TV Freelance Fund

The Skillset TV Freelance Fund allows TV professionals to claim up to 70 per cent of the total cost of new training, designed to give them a competitive edge in the industry.

Features of the scheme include:

· Workshops centring on technical, business and legal/editorial skills
· CV clinic
· Information and Guidance sessions
· One-to-one mentoring
· 70% off the total cost of training

Eligibility

To apply for the 70% subsidy and the freelance rate you must be:

· Living or working in the TV industry in the Northwest
· Someone who in the last 12 months has been employed on a succession of engagements with different employers, or
· Someone who is currently employed on a fixed term contract of not more than 364 days, or
· Someone who is currently in employment but can evidence that they have been given a date for the termination of employment and will become freelancers, or
· Someone who is currently unemployed but has demonstrable previous professional working experience in the industry
