What does Vision+Media do?
Vision+Media wants to help grow the digital and creative industry in the North West of England. We do this by delivering projects and programmes to help creative companies and individuals (at all levels) in Film, TV, Radio, Publishing, Games, Music, Digital and Creative services. We help productions find locations and staff in the region. And we also support creativity and culture e.g. film festivals and archives. If we can help increase the size of the creative economy in region and increase enjoyment of creative things, we’re winning.

Who works at Vision+Media?
There are 47 employees spread throughout the North West, Look at our team here or contact our film offices.

Can you help fund or finance my creative business?
Yes, we may be able to. Visit our Business and Financial Help section. We don’t just fund or finance businesses directly – many of our programmes could help you get the tools to secure finance or grow on your own with no financial investment from us, for example the Fast Company Programme.

How do you support film?
Visit the Film FAQs and Film sector homepage for more details on the programme of activity.

I’m a freelancer – can I get help with training?
You should visit the Freelance Development Fund page for info on how to get up to 70% of training fees for by us. (Up to £1,000)

What placements/apprenticeship opportunities are there in creative companies in the NW?
We’ve worked hard to create a range of opportunities for new entrants and also those looking to for new skills. Try Apprenticeships, Skills and Training sections to get started.

Is it worth registering for email updates?
Yes – we’re running a full support calendar of events, programmes and funding/financing initiatives, the best way to keep in touch with us is by registering for email updates. We’ve also beefed up our email systems so we can segment and send more targeted news and opportunities to you too.

Why should I take the time to register?
Registering with us is the only way to apply for funding opportunities, and how to attend events for free or reduced ticket price. By registering we can present you with targeted opportunities over time and get a better picture of how your needs might change over time. It also helps us prove we are doing our job – we can map how we help companies and what events or projects might be of most use to them. We are negotiating many benefits for membership too, so keep checking back.

Why should I join your network?
By joining the network, you will have a visible, searchable profile, which links to your website and other social networking presences. You might find a collaborator, a new client, a new job or employee – this is free and for companies and individuals based in the North West. We’re not trying to recreate/replace LinkedIn but one way to boost opportunities for creative companies is to offer a free comprehensive listings service so that’s what we’ve done.

How can I add an event or job vacancy?
You need to register with us, and then use the contact us form and select the right pull down from the menu. Add as much detail as you can, and we will review this for publication.  Events: we want to collate all the NW creative events, awards, conferences etc in one place as well the key national and international dates, so please send in your events or the ones you think we’ve missed. Please note, we won’t as a rule publicise paid for training seminars. Jobs: post your North West creative vacancies with us. Remember the opening and closing dates – so we can keep it up to date.

Why don’t you make job and event postings self publishing for members?
This site is new to us and so are the services. Bear with us, and after a trial period we hope to give the community even more control over content like events and jobs.

Can you help me find a production location/help with permits?
