Do you want to influence the debate on IP and open source? This is a unique opportunity to feed into future decisions affecting policy and funding for the creative industries.
Intellectual Property and Open Source is a Beacon Project from the Creative Industries Knowledge Transfer Network. It focuses on the impact of digital distribution on creative industry business models which have IP at the heart of their value proposition.
This Beacon Project comes at an important time, during the Hargreaves Review of Intellectual Property and Growth, and a separate government assessment of the funding needs of creative industry businesses prior to the 2011 Budget. To ensure that the KTN’s submissions are firmly evidence-based, you are invited to “have your say” by responding to a short online survey.
Your answers to these questions will directly inform the KTN’s submission to these important initiatives, as well as the final Beacon Project report.
The survey examines four related themes:
- How your creative business makes money now, and how you expect it to do so in the future
- The role of intellectual property - help, hindrance, or a combination of the two?
- What knowledge sharing and collaboration mean for your organisation
- Your experiences on funding a creative business
It is estimated that it will take you about 5-10 minutes to complete the survey. You can do so anonymously if you prefer, but if you provide your e-mail address at the end, you will be entered into a draw to win a Kindle Wifi.
For further information on findings so far, you can see IP Beacon Baseline and Scenarios Reports here.
