Supported by Vision+Media, the Brewery Arts Centre has teamed up with Kendal Mountain Festival to commission a short experimental documentary.
This is a unique opportunity for an emerging artist filmmaker to produce and film 'The Edgeland'.
‘The Edgeland’ will look at the real and/or the perceived physical, social, economic and cultural barriers that divide the post-industrial and economically depressed urbanised communities located around the fringes of the Lake District National Park from the rurally remote settlements that nestle in the mountainous landscape of the National Park itself.
The film will be premiered at Kendal Mountain Festival 2012, included in the Best of Kendal 2012 and will be promoted on the film festival circuit by Creative England.
