Whether you’re new to the industry or a seasoned pro, there’s always scope to add to your repertoire of skills, especially now, as the Digital and Creative industry is undergoing such rapid change. There’s a constant need to keep yourself up-to-date, learn new skills and understand where the industry is going next.
Vision+Media’s Skills department has a range of industry-led initiatives and funding streams to help new entrants, freelancers and employees do just that. They range from one-to-ones with industry professionals, workshops on hot topics, training placements with a wide range of industry partners, leadership and management or 70% subsidies for freelancers and companies for training courses. We use a selection of handpicked freelance Media Development Professionals to support our work; we only use industry practitioners so their knowledge and contacts are kept up to date.
We also run the well established Media Foundation Placement Scheme, a positive action training initiative which seeks to address issues of cultural diversity and the under representation of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic individuals in the media industry within the North West Region.
Northwest Vision and Media work closely with employers and providers on Apprenticeships, both in Broadcast Media (TV, Radio, online) and the Creative and Cultural (Live Venues, Theatres, Galleries, Music Business) parts of our sector. Apprenticeships are a superb way of learning on the job and building up your contacts within the industry, and all the while earning a wage and acquiring qualifications at the same time.
