Due to high demand the Vision+Media Training Fund is now closed.

The Vision+Media Training Fund will assist eligible North West based Creative and Digital professionals with the cost of occupational training. Since 2008, we have supported over 340 people to take up training through our Fund and for every £1 spent on training through this fund £4.60 has been put back into the economy through clients gaining new contracts so we know that training can help your “ bottom line”.

Who is it for?

  • Eligible freelancers can apply for 60% subsidy up to £1000 per person inc vat
  • Eligible companies can apply for 60% subsidy up to £2000 per company inc vat

Eligible freelancers and companies can use this subsidy to tailor training or development to identified needs. Applications will be assessed on your developmental needs and how closely your training choices meet the following priority areas:

1.     New Technologies
2.     Multi Skilling
3.     Cross Platform Technologies

Eligibility
Before applying please check that you meet the following eligibility criteria: 

  • You are not in full time education
  • You are aged 18 or over
  • You are based in the North West
  • You work in the TV, Radio, Publishing, Music, Film, Games or Digital & Creative Services
  • You have over 12 months paid industry experience/ your company has been trading for over 12 months
  • If you are freelance, you are not on a contract of 365 days or more OR
  • If you are a company, your annual turnover is at least £100,000 but less than £5 million and you employ less than 250 employees

 
Important stuff

  • All training that is subsidised through Vision+Media will be subject to a £50 admin fee
  •  Your contribution of the training fee plus administration fee must be paid before your training is booked.
  • Training courses must cost a minimum of £150
  • This fund is subject to availability and subsidies will be granted to those eligible on a first come, first served basis
  • This fund cannot support other Vision+Media activity
  • This fund cannot support clients that have previously been supported through the Media Freelance Fund
  • The Vision+Media Training fund will close 31st March 2011

How do I apply?
Freelancers can apply by completing the freelance application including a copy of your CV.
Companies can apply by completing the company application which should be completed by the company manager or owner.
