North West Film Exhibitors Consortium
The North West Film Exhibitors Consortium (NWFEC) was established in 2001 to encourage the development of cultural film and moving image exhibition activity, in the North West.
Consortium members include cinemas, film festivals and film societies from the commercial, independent and voluntary sectors. All of our members are dedicated to screening a diverse range of films across a wide variety of venues and locations.
Members regularly collaborate to increase audiences, share information and promote film culture. NWFEC is an entirely voluntary body.
We are looking for members, including those from the non-theatrical sectors (museums, galleries, theatres) to broaden the group’s experience and to increase collaboration opportunities in the region.
UK Digital Funding Partnership
Digital technology has brought incredible benefits to the film industry, but for exhibitors the cost of full scale digital projection equipment, its upkeep and replacement can be expensive.
The Cinema Exhibitors’ Association therefore, has established the UK Digital Funding Partnership (UKDFP) to help secure finance to allow small and medium-sized UK cinemas to purchase digital cinema equipment.
Most UK cinema operators are keen to embrace the benefits of digital technology. However, they also recognise that they are extremely unlikely to be able to secure funding deals to allow them to convert to digital on their own.
The CEA strongly believes that, for a significant majority of small and medium-sized cinema operators, the UKDFP represents the only option to achieve this. The Group has the full support of the UK Film Council.
