Find Your Talent: A cultural offer for children and young people
Find Your Talent is a national initiative being piloted in ten areas across England. The programmes (called Pathfinders) offer children and young people regular involvement with arts and culture both in and out of school. Find Your Talent is funded by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, the Department for Children, Schools and Families, Arts Council England and the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council.
The North West has been especially successful and has two Pathfinder projects in the region. Vision+Media supports Find Your Talent, particularly in terms of moving image culture, through its involvement in the Regional Development Group who work to support the Cultural Offer in the region’s schools.
The Learning Revolution goes North
Thanks to generous support from The Transformation Fund, Vision+Media, Screen Yorkshire and Northern Film and Media are delighted to be joining forces with Media 19 to bring older adults across the North of England the Learning Revolution: a celebration of learning for pleasure bringing benefits to people’s lives and opportunities to our rural communities.
Media 19 is an award-winning media production company who specialise in engaging the public in learning, participating and producing content for large scale cross-platform media projects.
From December 2009 to March 2010 we are ran DiGi 50+, our programme of Learning Revolution workshops and drop-in sessions, devised to combat issues of social exclusion and rural isolation for older people.
The project helped develop participants’ knowledge, skills and confidence around using online, digital and social media tools under different themes such as ‘managing and sharing digital photos’, ‘keeping in touch with family and friends’, ‘researching family history’ and ‘community journalism’ in three rural areas of the North of England.
